Your "made-with-your-own-two-hands" plate and rest will be perfect for you to enjoy Sushi, use as a serving plate, eat anything you like from it and on the side you will make a perfect rest for your chopsticks, spoon or fork. Don't worry: *No previous clay experience is required* and you will have a lot of fun! You will hand build, using the clay slab-building method, a beautiful personalized plate decorated your way with imprints, stamps, a fish or pebble pattern or leave it simple and make a matching rest using a pinching method. It's your design-your way. Book with friends or family (16 years of age or older), this also makes a wonderful date night. This workshop gives you 2 hours and step-by-step instruction for you to make your set. You will start with a new piece of clay and transform and design it into a personal and functional plate. After you are finished, we take over. The pieces will be fully dried and fired in our kiln. Then we will glaze it with the colours that you choose and fire it once more to around 2200 degrees F. This process can take up to 4-5 weeks and once complete, we will email you and you can come pick them up. This workshop includes everything needed for your project: the clay, tools, supplies, glazes and instruction All you need is: -to wear clothes that you don't ming getting dirty (possibly stained) -an apron (optional) -as short as nails as you are comfortable with (long nails makes working with clay quite challenging) -you can bring your own leaves, flowers or other items to imprint in clay if you like (optional) **during the making, drying, firing process there is always a chance your piece can warp or crack but we will do everything we can to ensure, but cannot full guarantee, that your creation is a success, please be aware that this can happen and there are no refunds if your piece cracks**
