Shaping Clay

WHO WE ARE

Mudita Studio offers a space to foster imagination and creativity by helping students of all ages create with clay.

How does registration work?

-Registration for our classes is online & is on a first come/first serve basis.

We send out emails directly to those that have signed up on our email list and let them know what classes/workshops are scheduled with the details.

We also include a notification of the date and time registration opens up

on our website for the public

(we post info. on instagram and facebook too)

Why are some classes already full & unavailable to register?

-Current class members get a chance to re-register before registration opens up to the public.

For some classes, some or ALL of the previous students are returning

and that is why there may be only a few spots available

or may even be FULL before online registration even begins

What class should I register for?

Beginner? Level 2/ Intermediate?

-Beginner Classes are for those that have no experience at all,

as well as those that do have some experience.

(I, personally, was in a "beginner" class for over 10 years and I never stopped learning) ~Kirsten (owner/potter)

Through instructor led and demonstrated projects, you will learn a combination of wheel throwing and

hand-building techniques (coil-building, slab-building, pinch pots & more)

You will build & practice your skills to create your own

unique and beautiful pieces as well as how to finish and glaze your work

Each project will teach you new skill/techniques so you can keep building and adding

"tools" to your "toolbox"

-Level 2/Intermediate Classes are for those that do have some experience under their belt & you will be taking your current skill set up a level or 2.  You don't need to be an expert as you are here to learn, practice and improve but you can (fairly confidently) throw pieces on the pottery wheel (cylinder and other shapes). You are able to wedge your clay & centre, pull and trim on the wheel, you have learned hand-building techniques (coil-building, slab work, pinch pots, etc.) and have experience & an understanding of the glazing process. This class is project based where you will watch a demo and then give it a go.

Your instructor is there for help and support, you will be learning alongside other potters/students,

all on their own path and learning journey in a fun, supportive and creative environment.

-"Cracked Pots Class" this class is especially for those aged 60+ ish. Whether you are a brand new beginner or an experienced potter, you are welcome to join this fun and easy going class.

You will create with clay...learning & practicing a variety of techniques and projects

for hand-building beautiful, functional & sculptural pieces.

Always wanted to try your hands at the potter's wheel? Why not give it a go?

This class is not as structured as other classes, if you have your own ideas of what you may like to make,

we will help you. Not sure of what you can make? We will help you with that too.

This class doesn't only build with clay

but also build wonderful friendships among the group members, a caring & supportive community.
